They have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor . It will be a 3 shift rotating position. Definite preference given to those with experience in injection moulding.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing day to day supervision, training and communication to unionized production employees.
- Required to understand and manage fundamental business initiatives such as production, quality, scrap, and downtime to achieve established goals and targets.
- Responsible to initiate and lead in the implementation of LEAN and TPS activities on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for problem solving efforts such as accident investigations and addressing efficiency issues on the production line.
- A working knowledge and understanding of labor relations as well as effective communication and people skills.
- Ensure production employees receive and complete required training.
- Maintain TS16949/ISO14001 standard requirements.
- Continually drive improvement on metrics/measures of performance (OEE, scrap, safety) to meet plant targets and objectives.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma is preferred. Equivalent prior work experience directly related to the position will be considered.
- Clearly demonstrated leadership shills with a track record to show for it.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Union experience is a must.
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment and will work rotating shift.

Our client is a Tier 1 automotive parts supplier seeking a candidate with a minimum of 4 years within a similar environment.
 
Purpose:
 
To act as primary liaison for management to resolve customer and supplier quality related product and system failures.  Approval and/or evaluation of sample submissions, quality system assessments, and supporting new product launches are integral to this position.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Order Norms for components for all quality/engineering requirements and Engineering materials to be issued to Purchasing for approval and distribution through document control.  Ensure suppliers understand requirements.
  • Liaison with designated suppliers regarding quality issues/concerns including related investigation, tracking, reporting/responding until resolution using customer approved formats/methods.
  • PPAP tracking/submission of components for approval.
  • PPAP tracking/submission to customers for product approval.
  • Participation in Advanced Quality Planning including the development and/or Improvement of quality plans (control plans), support for Manufacturing Engineering on PFMEA’s and ensuring approvals are achieved as required.
  • Participation and support of quality system surveys/supplier visits as required, and/or as requested by Purchasing.
  • Problem resolution and reporting of product issues and concerns.
  • Maintains customer concerns log.
  • Inspection procedures and auditing.
  • Travel to customers and suppliers to respond to quality issues.
  • Ensure all TS/ISO/N5 systems and procedures are adhered to.
  • Authorization to act as QA Manager in procedure TS Process Deviation.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Q.A. Manager.    
     
Qualifications:
  • Must have College Diploma (or equivalent) as a minimum.
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive Quality Assurance experience with Tier one automotive parts supplier.
  • Familiar with major OEM and TS/ISO requirements.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to generate clear and concise reports/presentations/data summaries using       personal computer software.                   
  • Basic blue print reading skills, with GD&T skills an asset.
  • Must be organized, decisive, and able to work with minimal supervision in a sometimes stressful environment.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
